Website Hosting Terms & Services

1. Hosting Services

We provide website hosting services to our clients using a third-party infrastructure provider. All websites are hosted on servers managed and maintained by our team to ensure security, uptime, and performance.

2. Hosting Inclusions

Our hosting packages generally include:
– Server space appropriate to your website needs
– Standard website backups (daily/weekly depending on your plan)
– SSL certificate for secure browsing (HTTPS)
– Domain connection and DNS setup
– Basic website performance monitoring
– Email forwarding (where applicable)

3. Service Availability (Uptime)

We aim to maintain 99.9% uptime on all hosted websites. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Occasionally, downtime may occur due to server maintenance, updates, or third-party issues outside of our control. We will take all reasonable steps to notify you of any planned outages.

4. Support

We provide first-line technical support for hosting issues, website errors, or questions relating to your hosted website. Support is available during business hours (NZT). We aim to respond to all queries within 1 business day.

For custom development or non-hosting issues, additional support may be charged at our hourly rate of $150 exc GST.

5. Data Backups

We take regular backups of your website and store them securely. While we take every reasonable measure to protect your data, we recommend that clients also keep their own copies of critical website content.

Restoration from backups can be requested and is usually processed within 24 hours.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:
– Providing accurate and timely website content
– Not uploading malicious or harmful content
– Ensuring any third-party tools, plugins, or themes used are licensed and secure
– Keeping their CMS (e.g., WordPress) credentials confidential and secure

Websites found to contain malware, phishing pages, or abusive material may be suspended immediately and without notice.

7. Billing & Renewals

Hosting is billed either monthly or annually, depending on your plan. Invoices are issued via email and must be paid by the due date to avoid service interruption.

Renewal notices will be sent in advance of expiration dates. If payment is not received within 14 days of the due date, services may be suspended.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel your hosting service at any time by providing 14 days’ written notice. No refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period once hosting is active, unless agreed otherwise.

If you cancel your hosting but wish to move your website elsewhere, we will assist with transferring your files upon request.

9. Limitation of Liability

We take care to ensure your website runs smoothly and is secure. However, Websites New Zealand shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from hosting interruptions, data loss, or website downtime, whether due to external host performance or other factors.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in services, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify clients of major changes in writing.
